Protecting the Future of Farm-Direct, Grass-Fed Beef Near Brisbane
Just one hour from Brisbane, something big is happening on our farm.
We are building South East Queensland’s first on-farm packing shed — and it’s about far more than bricks, concrete and cold rooms.
It’s about protecting truly local, farm-direct beef in Queensland.
The Reality Farmers Are Facing
Across Australia, small abattoirs are closing. Fewer facilities means more pressure on the ones that remain. Processing spots are now being booked 6–12 months in advance — if farmers can even secure a booking at all.
For small family farms raising 100% grass-fed and grass-finished beef near Brisbane, that creates serious uncertainty.
We don’t operate on feedlot timelines.
We don’t raise cattle for mass production.
We don’t supply large supermarket chains.
We raise our cattle slowly, on open pasture — the traditional way — right here in South East Queensland.
But without reliable access to processing, even the most committed paddock-to-plate beef farmers can be pushed out.
And that’s not a future we’re willing to accept.
Why We’re Building Our Own Packing Shed
Instead of waiting and hoping for space in someone else’s facility…
We decided to build our own.
We are building South East Queensland’s first on-farm packing shed — right here on our family property.
That means your grass-fed beef will be:
- Born and raised on our paddocks
- 100% grass-fed and grass-finished in South East Queensland
- Handled by us and our butchers on-farm
- Delivered directly from our family farm to your family kitchen
Less transport. Less middlemen. More transparency. More food security for our region.
It’s a big step. A bold one. A slightly terrifying one.
But it means more security for our farm, more stability for our customers, and more control over quality — from paddock to plate.
This is true farm-direct beef — not just “locally distributed,” but genuinely local from start to finish.
Why Local Processing Matters
When local processing disappears, local food disappears with it.
What replaces it? Long supply chains. Interstate transport. Feedlot systems built for volume, not values. Supermarket beef with very little transparency.
We believe Brisbane families deserve better.
They deserve to know:
- Who raised their beef
- Where it was grown
- How it was handled
If you’ve ever searched for where to buy grass-fed beef in Brisbane and wanted something more than a supermarket label — this is the answer.
Building this shed is about strengthening local food systems in South East Queensland, so families can keep buying ethical, pasture-raised beef directly from farmers they trust.

We’re Putting Our Necks On The Line
We won’t sugarcoat it — this is a major investment for our family.
Time.
Money.
Energy.
Risk.
But small farms don’t survive by playing small.
We believe local food systems are worth fighting for. We believe families deserve transparency. We believe small farms still matter.
So instead of complaining about the pressure in the industry, we chose to do something about it.
